Unlike many lawyers, my practice is not about the money. Because I operate as a sole practitioner and don’t have the overhead that larger offices have, I am able to pass the savings on to you. My attorney fees are based upon how much work goes into your case. Each case is different, but most cases are for a flat attorney fee.
For a basic Chapter 7 case, my rates are as follows:
* $800 total attorney fee for a single filer (one person)
* $1000 total attorney fee for a joint filing (two people)
* The court fee is $335
* And the credit counseling fees total $25.00
I understand that these fees may still be out of reach for a lot of people. For those that are not able to come up with a lump sum of $800 or $1000, I do offer payment plans where I spread the fees out over a three month period.
For a Chapter 13 case, my rates range anywhere from $1,100 to $4,250. However, most of these fees are paid through the Chapter 13 repayment plan. I normally ask for $0 to $350 down to file the case, with the balance of the fee rolled into the Chapter 13 plan.
